January Sketchbook 2026
A brief night study of winter in my neighborhood. in low light, stillness, and gradual atmospheric shift. Subtle movement accumulates slowly over time. Duration and repetition invite a heightened awareness of presence, uncertainty, and quiet perception. Streetlight, moonlight, and shadow register less as subjects than as conditions, situating attention between observation and memory. The work operates as a temporal sketch, where looking itself becomes the primary action and time functions as both material and structure.
February Sketchbook 2026
A sketch of a walk. The head moves about, taking in the scene but the sky and trees and power lines are what attract attention. The footsteps crunch with sand on the asphalt. Do you remember the snows? Now the now has melted and the birds are starting to chatter once again.
